Features and settings shows who this back office is set up for, the parts that are always on, and the optional features the church can switch on when it's ready.
When to use this
- To try an optional feature, such as the member app, in the sandbox.
- To check whether a feature is on for the church.
Turn a feature on or off
- Open Features and settings.
- Under Optional features, find the feature. Each one says what it does, its default for the church, and why.
- Use its switch to turn it On or Off.
- Select Open … to go straight to it.
In the sandbox, a switch changes your browser only, and shows Changed in this browser. Reset to default puts it back.
For the real church, turning a feature on is a change to the church's settings that is reviewed and scheduled like any other change, never a switch one person flips on a Sunday morning.
| Feature | Default | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Member app | Off | The church's plan offers the app after the move off Elexio is finished. |
| Volunteer scheduling | On | Coordinators build the Sunday schedule with it. |
Core modules
People and households, kids check-in, giving, accounting, messages, the website and sermons are always on. They're the core the church needs first, and have no switch.
Good to know
- The church's name, service times, address and website at the top come from the church's own settings.
- When a feature is off, its menu item shows Off, and opening it explains how to turn it on.
Top tips
- Turn a feature on, try it, and turn it off again before you demonstrate the core: the back office then looks as it will on day one.
- Read each feature's "why" line before suggesting it's switched on for real: it records the decision the church has already made.
